Real Estate in Stann Creek
Stann Creek is a coastal district in the south of Belize. It has many rivers and is at the foothills of the Maya Mountains. It has moderate seasonal rainfall and has been highly developed for the production of citrus and banana products. Its terrain ranges from coastal savannah to rocky foothills.
The Stann Creek District has recently blossomed due to the upgrade of roads leading to the south of the country. The agricultural development has been mostly of a corporate nature with three large companies producing the majority of the citrus.
The residents of Stann Creek are mostly the Garifuna, who are the descendants of Carib Indians and African slaves that migrated to Belize and other Mainland Countries from St. Vincent and other Carribean Islands.
Stann Creek shares the Cockscomb Nature Reserve with the Toledo District. There are also a number of cayes off the coast which are excellent for diving.
